MMA is the essential building block for all acrylics. It’s fully recyclable and polymerizes easily to form resins and polymers with high performance characteristics, including excellent durability, strength, transparency, UV and abrasion resistance. These qualities bring benefits to many of the products we rely on every day: work surfaces, automotive parts, home appliances, baths, paint, lighting, retail displays and more.
They’re even responsible for healthy smiles and keeping us mobile; resins based on our MMA make dental prostheses and bone cement for joint replacement surgery. MMA can also be co-polymerized to form a broader range of products typically used for coatings and adhesives.
MAA is created via the C4 or ACH route to manufacturing MMA. Its beneficial properties – surface adhesion, toughness and chemical resistance – are important for its use in specialty Methacrylates for automotive coatings, cement modifiers, NBR latex for disposable rubber gloves, and in vinyl ester resins.
nBMA is formed from the esterification of MMA and is used in exterior decorative paints, automotive coatings, wood finishes and textiles where it provides durability, UV- and moisture resistance and improved solubility of solvents used in resins.
We produce and sell a range of HMAs with diverse characteristics, suitable for many different applications. We sell a range of HMAs, including iBMA, 2-HEMA, EMA and 2-EHMA.
We’re the largest global producer of MMA with the most comprehensive sales and distribution capabilities, and the only one using all available manufacturing technologies – ACH, C4 and Alpha. This makes us a unique partner in the acrylics industry.
Despite our global scale and reach, we’ve a distinctly local approach. Our multi-lingual customer service teams, local sales managers as well as our distributors with strategic stock locations help ensure we deliver the very best certainty of supply for customers.
