We are totally opposed to slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our divisional operations including our supply chain

Organisation’s structure

Mitsubishi Chemical Methacrylates produces methacrylate monomers and is part of Mitsubishi Chemical Group Corporation.

Our supply chains

We purchase most of our raw materials services and goods from third-party suppliers who are located worldwide to serve our businesses divisions.

Relevant Polices

We are committed to acting with integrity in all of our business dealings and compliance with all relevant laws. Many of our existing policies contain sections which are aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in any part of our global business or supply chain.

Our relevant policies include:

• Code of Conduct, including guidance for ethics hotline;
• Employment Policy;
• Remuneration Standards and Guidelines;
• MCC Human Rights Policy

Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain we are continuing to strengthen our processes and procedures and;

• Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains.
• Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains.
• Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains.
• Protect whistle blowers.

Supplier adherence to our values

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain comply with our values we continue to strengthen our supply chain compliance programme. This will consist of communication of a Supplier Code of Conduct which contains specific reference to slavery and human trafficking and auditing of new and existing suppliers using a risk-based approach.

Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to our staff.

Our effectiveness in combating slavery and human trafficking

We do not have key performance indicators specifically in relation to slavery or human trafficking as any instance would be a non-compliance and breach of employment laws, our direct employment practices, Code of Conduct, wider Group policies and / or supplier standards. However, the business practices that relate to the mitigation of slavery or human trafficking risk do have internal performance measures. In relation to our own employment practices, we monitor and review:

• Number of employees who have completed Code of Conduct compliance training;
• Issues raised through Public Interest Disclosure; and
• Grievances.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Group’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending March 2022.
